Jesse Cohen is a Senior Associate in RMI’s Electricity Program, where he focuses on advancing the global transition to cost-effective, secure, and low-carbon power systems. Over his 8 years in the power sector, Mr. Cohen has worked in private sector consulting, academia, and non-profit research organizations. He has provided technical assistance and facilitated discussions for regulators, utilities, technology providers, and investors across North America and Asia. Much of his research focuses on incorporating distributed energy resources and virtual power plants into utility planning. Mr. Cohen holds dual B.A. degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Wesleyan University, and a M.E.M. in Energy Policy from the Yale School of the Environment.
Emily Beynon is a Strategy Director at Octopus Energy, leading work on international partnerships and business development. A former senior civil servant, Emily spent over a decade working at the heart of the UK Government on economic policy and the energy transition. Her career included serving as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister for business, energy and infrastructure, as well as holding roles in the Cabinet Office and the Business and Energy departments.
She has worked on a wide range of strategic policy issues and investment decisions, including the £12bn Net Zero Plan, the UK's industrial strategy, major infrastructure projects, science and innovation, business investment, trade policy, and economic security. Prior to joining the Civil Service, Emily earned a PhD in biotechnology and worked at the UK's Committee on Climate Change.
Caroline Choi serves as the Strategic Planning Team Lead at Gridwiz. With a deep expertise in clean energy business models and cross-border market analysis, she plays a key role in identifying new business models and has contributed to the company’s global expansion.
Prior to joining Gridwiz, Ms. Choi was a Senior Consultant at the Climate Change & Sustainability division of KPMG Korea. She holds a master's degree in international cooperation from Yonsei University.
